The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Government of Manipur, was established by amalgamating the erstwhile State Institute of Education (S.I.E.) and State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) and some other units from the Directorate of School Education in the month of February, 1989. The SCERT has since then been working for upliftment of the quality of education in the elementary stage of education as well as for achieving the goal of Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE).
The Department is implementing the following State Plan Schemes : 1.Preparation and Production of Academic Materials: 2. Teacher Training and Extension Services. 3.Improvement of Science and Mathematics. 4.Population Education ( P E ). 5.Evaluation and Examination Reforms. 6.Educational Research and Survey. 8. Information Technology ( I T ). 9. Vocational Guidance and Counseling Services. 10.Library and Documentation Services. In addition to the State Plan Schemes, the Department is also implementing the following Centrally Sponsored Schemes/ Central Plan Schemes 1.Integrated Education for Disabled Children (IEDC). 2.Restructuring and Reorganization of Teacher Education (PRTE). 3.National Population Education Project ( NPEP ). |
